A German national, Wilfried Ruetten has worked in public and private broadcasting in Germany (ARD, RTL-Group) as well as in journalism education.
Before joining the EJC, Ruetten was the head of a school for digital television at the University of Applied Sciences in Salzburg in Austria.
The European Journalism Centre (EJC) is an independent, international, nonprofit institute dedicated to the highest standards in journalism, primarily through the further training of journalists and media professionals. Building on its extensive international network, the centre operates as a facilitator and partner in a wide variety of training projects.
The EJC plays a unique role at the European level as a partner and organiser for media companies, professional organisations, journalism schools and governmental bodies seeking to establish activities and projects.
He will be speaking during Session 2 entitled "The Impact of Technology on News Reporting".
