Masaki Fukuyama - Kyodo News

President and Editor-in-Chief

Masaki Fukuyama was born on November 20, 1948, in the Kanagawa Prefecture in Japan. He graduated from Keio University's Faculty of Law in 1971. Years later, in 1998, He joined Kyodo News - a nonprofit cooperative news organisation founded in 1945 and the lead news agency in Japan today - as the chief editor of the political news section.

In 2004, Mr. Masaki became the managing director of the general administration department, and that same year, he became the Osaka regional office's managing director. Over the next years, he served various roles within the agency and was appointed as head of broadcast and multimedia operations as the executive director. He was named general manager in 2007.

In 2013, he became the president and editor-in-chief of Kyodo.
